With Gratitude!

A week ago today the Quilters at First were very busy welcoming friends, friends of friends, first time visitors, neighbors, family members and church members to the opening day of the 2026 Quilts Etc. Sale. It was wonderful! The twinkle lights lit up Meredith Hall. Pumpkins, autumn leaves, potted chrysanthemums created a cozy fall look. Fresh coffee and warm cinnamon buns scents fill the room.

Yesterday we spent our regular Wednesday sorting items–deciding what we would take to the two different one day craft fairs we are participating in November. We also reduced some prices, —-so check out the posts that are “Just” quilts, the smaller home decorations, the Fall and Christmas posts.

We updated our sales records also. We don’t have final numbers and won’t until the first of December when we present our monies to the representatives of the two missions of the Church that we support. There are still many opportunities to contribute to this year’s gifts.

We also acknowledge the approximately 25 quilters that make up our two groups could not have done this alone…never, ever. We are so grateful to all–

πŸ‘ our ministers who promoted the sale during the end of service announcements. πŸ‘ the Church’s media, staff for designing the postcards, flyers and social media posts. πŸ‘ the Church’s maintenance who created more space for us and helped us be open outside regular building hours πŸ‘ Church staff that helped with calendars, pass words, and book keeping–taxes and credit card fees πŸ‘ Seeker class members and husbands that helped with the set up Monday morning. πŸ‘quilt husbands that set in AB entrance for three days as the cashiers. πŸ‘Marty who quickly fixed a falling apart rack for us to use and George who used his truck to bring heavy and large display stands to the Church from a summer garage sale. πŸ‘quilters who watch FUMC on TV who sent lovely items for us to include in our sale. πŸ‘friends of quilters who donated items and those who give us vintage items from their homes πŸ‘ friends and family that purchased handcrafted items for others and themselves –items ranging from $1 to $400 πŸ‘ friends and family that came just to support the Church, their friends and their family

The Quilters at First do realize some folks don’t understand why we purchase beautiful fabric and cut it up to make something similar to an item sold at Walmart or on Amazon. But we thank you especially for supporting our passions as we support the Church and enjoy the company of other quilters –even if you don’t get it.

But to those of who truly appreciate a well made handcrafted quilt or set of place mats, you found the right place and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We plan to be around from years to come and have already started planning for the 2027 Quilts Etc. Sale!
